Progrock
Mostly Autumn is een Britse progressieve rockband, sterk beïnvloed door bands als Genesis en Pink Floyd, maar wel met een Keltisch- en folkachtig randje en tegenwoordig komt de vergelijking met Fleedwood Mac meer en meer naar boven. Dit zorgt voor toegankelijke emotionele songs die bovenal catchy blijven maar ok de nodige diepgang bevatten.
De band, met Bryan Josh en Heather Findlay als frontleden, is opgericht eind jaren ’90 en werd in korte tijd erg populair, met name in het Verenigd Koninkrijk.
Mostly Autumn gebruikt (dwars-)fluit, violen en vocale harmonieën, gecombineerd met een band bestaande uit toetsen, twee gitaren, bas en drums. Optredens laten altijd diepe indruk achter door de intense kracht en oprechtheid van emoties die de band en muziek uitstralen. Met name het bijzondere stemgeluid van zangeres Heather Findlay draagt daar aan bij. Hun albums, "For All We Shared", "The Spirit Of Autumn Past", "The Last Bright Light", "Music Inspired By The Lord Of The Rings" en "Heart Full of Sky" ontvingen meer dan lovende kritieken.
In 2009 zagen twee live albums (Part 1 & Part 2) en een triple best of album het licht.
